BACKGROUND & HISTORY

Amore Organisation is a Zimbabwean non-profit making organization registered under Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare as PVO 64/20. Founded in 2016 from a purpose to stand in the gap with services advocating for the vulnerable children and mothers. Amore’s mission is to action charity work mainly to the vulnerable marginalised groups and create conducive spaces where decency and love is felt. We are based in Zimbabwe and we offer care, education, protection and psychosocial support to vulnerable children and women. The organization is one of Zimbabwean’s first centres for help especially for the vulnerable groups such as children, women and teen mothers. A strong establishment has been on pro-offering counselling & mental health awareness and wellbeing, legal assistance, capacity building in economic livelihood human and children rights.

Head of Mental Health Department | Development Practitioner | Certified Counsellor

Ruvarashe Maria Haines is a passionate Development Practitioner and a Certified Counsellor with the Allied Health , leading the Mental Health Department at Amore Organization. She specializes in empowering women and girls, providing psychosocial support to vulnerable groups such as children, women, families, and sports teams, through impactful charity initiatives.

She has studied International Relations and Diplomacy with the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy, and holds a Masters Degree in International Affairs from Midlands State University.

Committed to community development and mental health advocacy, she strives to create meaningful change in the lives of the marginalized.

Our Vision

We envision a day when mental health becomes a normal service to look into in Zimbabwe and every person’s dignity is protected, especially those affected by human and natural crises

Our Vision

To provide people affected by human and natural crises in Zimbabwe with emergency psychosocial relief, educational programs, clean water and food security, health care, protection for vulnerable girl child and orphans, sustainable socio-economic programs, and to promote peace-building and effective governance, while integrating our values of respect, impartiality, quality, accountability, advocacy and innovation in all our work.

Strategic Plan Forgoing Ahead

IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS, AMORE ORGANISATION WILL IMPROVE ON THE FOLLOWING AREA:

  • Create self-sufficient programs Improve on quality education primary, secondary and tertiary institutions managed by Amore Organisation.
  • Invest in relevant psychosocial vocational training skills and welfare programs.
  • Provide scholarships and support school talent management - for students in fields such as innovation, arts and culture.
  • Create an endowment portfolio for the education sector to increase income generating activities for sustainability.
  • Mobilize resources from private sector, international NGOs and diaspora/individual donors. Awareness for the girl child voice on child marriage, sexual abuse etc.
  • Sports and team building to advocate and help sportsmanship from drug and substance abuse and enhance the sports drug free program.
